Biography of Dr. January

Dr. Eboni January is a board-certified Physician and Surgeon, Medical Director, author, mentor, coach, and business consultant using the latest science and technology to help communities, corporations, and students tap the limitless potential of better health. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry & Anthropology in 2003. She then went on to complete her Medprep post-baccalaureate program at the Southern University of Illinois-Carbondale and received her medical degree shortly after from Wright State University-Boonshoft School of Medicine. Dr. January is a multi-dynamic business professional with a passion for preventative medicine, mentorship, and fitness. In 2015, alongside Olympic gold medalist, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Dr. January helped promote a large childhood obesity campaign.

Her health and wellness podcast “The Wellness Wheel” at CBS Radio aimed to introduce all communities to a holistic approach to health and fitness. In 2016 she developed a “text coaching” program in an effort to decrease the growing number of patients facing complications involving obesity and cancer. The program, TextFit, has been featured on a number of news outlets such as Fox 2, Gazelle magazine, and St. Louis Argus. In the same year, she was granted The Lifetime Achievement Award from President Obama. Just a short year later Delux magazine named her one of the “50 Most Intriguing Women in St. Louis”. Additionally, in 2017 she received the 30 Leaders in their 30s Leadership award and a Lifetime Legacy Award in Medicine.

Along with her love for health and medicine, has been an ever-present passion for youth success coaching. As an East St. Louis

Native, she’s worked with young people for over 10 years and in 2018 she authored the book “Educational Athlete: Why Every Successful Student Needs a Coach”. She’s now developing an online platform that speaks to the growing need for educational coaching in a digital age.
